Through this private note, S/A USINA CORURIPE AÇÚCAR E ALCOOL clarifies that, on June 12, 2023, it was exonerated of any liability in the Criminal Investigation conducted by the Federal Police, which investigated the crime of labor analogous to slavery. The investigation was carried out due to the inspection by the Ministry of Labor and Employment, carried out on April 27, 2022, in two of the 498 sugarcane suppliers of Usina Coruripe, which uncovered evidence of labor irregularities at that time.
We would like to inform you that the company will continue to monitor 72 areas related to safety and working conditions at independent sugarcane suppliers. All identified irregularities will be corrected; otherwise, they will be reported to the appropriate authorities, who will take appropriate legal action.
