1925

The Coruripe Sugar Mill was founded at the beginning of the 20th century, on February 12, 1925, from the union of several mills, which at that time already expressed the sugarcane vocation of the municipality of Coruripe, 120 kilometers from Maceió, Alagoas.

1941

In January 1941, entrepreneur Tércio Wanderley acquired controlling interest in the company. Years of hard work and dedication transformed the small plant into one of the largest sugar, alcohol and energy producing groups in Brazil.

1994

Expansion of borders to Minas Gerais, following the acquisition of the Alexandre Balbo Distillery, in the municipality of Iturama, in the Triângulo Mineiro region.

2001

Creation of Coruripe Energética, an electricity cogeneration unit, at the Iturama Unit, to take advantage of the large quantity of sugarcane bagasse produced at its plants.

2002

Continuing the expansion process, in 2002 the Campo Florido Unit was opened in the municipality of Campo Florido, also in the Triângulo Mineiro region.

2005

Opening of the Limeira do Oeste Unit, strategically located 50 kilometers from the Iturama Unit, allowing the practice of a unique management model.

2007

Opening of a Coruripe Energética branch in the Campo Florido Unit, expanding the operation and sale of electricity.

2008

The Carneirinho Unit was opened in 2008, 70 kilometers from the Iturama Unit, as the Carneirinho Plant and incorporated into the Coruripe Plant in 2012.

2013

Professionalization of the company and creation of the company's Board of Directors, composed of shareholders Vitor Wanderley Junior, Tércio Wanderley Neto and Marcio Wanderley de Paiva, in addition to two external directors.

2016

Company receives the title of two-time champion in 2016 for TCH (tons of sugarcane per hectare) productivity. Exceeding 14 million tons of sugarcane crushed.

2021

The 2021/2022 harvest had a net revenue of R$417 million.

2022

Launch of the Comendador Rubem Montenegro Wanderley Road-Rail Terminal, a modern road-rail transshipment unit, built in a privileged location in the Triângulo Mineiro region.

2024

Expansion of the Limeira do Oeste Unit, increasing the annual milling capacity of this plant from 1.5 million tons to 2.5 million tons of sugarcane. In addition, the unit begins to produce VHP sugar. With the expansion, the group increases its milling capacity to 16.2 million tons of sugarcane.

2025

February 12, 2025 – 100 years of the Coruripe Plant.
