Sustainability is one of the legacies that Coruripe Plant wants to leave for future generations. In this sense, the company develops a series of sustainable actions and preservation to the environment. As a result of this work, Coruripe was the highlight, for the second consecutive year, in an important national award and elected the country's most sustainable in the agribusiness segment. The award was presented during a ceremony held on November 22 in São Paulo to the Director of Administration and HR of the Coruripe Plant, Fábio Moniz.
The ranking is part of Sustainability Guide of Exame 2018, recognized national publication on business practices in the areas of sustainability, environment and corporate governance. The guide shows 77 model companies in 19 sectors of the economy, with special emphasis on companies with above average scores in the questionnaire prepared by the Getúlio Vargas Foundation technical team in São Paulo. Some of the highlights of the guide were the 17,000 hectares of environmental reserve maintained by the company in Alagoas and Minas Gerais, waste management and investment of more than 1 million reais in social and environmental programs per year.
"We are very happy with this achievement because having economic, environmental and social profitability is the basis of sustainability of the company, because sustainability is a value for us," said Mario Lorencatto, president of Coruripe.
