On October 29, the president of the Coruripe Power Plant, Mario Luiz Lorencatto, was decorated as the most influential executive of the year in the 2018 MasterCana Award, held in Vila Olímpia, São Paulo. A traditional award from the sugar and ethanol sector, held since 1988, MasterCana recognizes the merit of professionals and organizations that stand out for their work in favor of the human, technological and socioeconomic development of Brazilian agribusiness. Coruripe was also recognized as the best company of the year in the categories "Performance - Control and Environmental Preservation" and "Performance - Health and Safety at Work".
Mario Luiz Lorencatto assumed, in February of this year, the presidency of the Coruripe Plant. He holds a MBA from the Vanderbilt University School of Management in the United States and a specialization in financial accounting and auditing from the London Business School in London, England. "I believe that the highlight of the Coruripe Plant is a consequence of the effort of the excellent professionals of the company, who are committed to continuously develop actions aimed at improving processes and seeking good results. The prize is for all employees. We will continue together towards the sustainable development of our company, which we are so proud of, "says Lorencatto.
Throughout this year, the Coruripe Plant received several awards. In July, it won the first place in the Occupational Safety category by the 9th Agro Central-South Vision Award and ranked among the 60 Best Companies in Corporate Citizenship 2018, of the magazine Gestão e RH, for its performance with social responsibility. It was also certified as the 39th best company to work in Brazil, according to Great Place To Work Brasil 2018 (GPTW). This month, the company also received the title of sustainability champion by Globo Rural and was considered the best company in the "Agribusiness" sector and in the "Vision of the Future" dimension of the yearbook Business Season 360º.
